Our brewery is in the process of implementing a HACCP program. During our last audit, the auditor was concerned about the bulbs in our fly lights not being shatterproof or having a guard in place to protect from flying glass in the chance that one of the bulbs would burst. We have the Vector Gold system of fly lights and were considering putting a mylar sleeve around the bulbs to contain the glass if breakage would occur, but we aren't sure if that will make the bulbs less effective or interfere with the shock feature. Do you have any suggestions?

I am a Florida Certified Pest Control Operator working in Bermuda. I have a few questions regarding the various abamectin baits on the market today. I have always been impressed with Avert and now am impressed with Advance 375A. I have noticed that the Avert Gel I am using for cockroach control attracts certain species of ants. Will that formulation kill ants? I have noticed cockroaches are attracted to Advance 375A. Will that formulation kill cockroaches? Will Advance 375A eventually be available in a gel formulation for ant control? (Abamectin Gel- not 388B)

Yellow Jackets

This past summer we were plagued with yellowjackets. They obviously have nests beneath our 600 square foot deck that has latice around the periphery of the deck. How is the best way to deal with this situation. Is there a fogger that would work or, now that it is getting cold, should I go underneath the deck and destroy the nests? If I do, are more likely to move in again next summer? We hang hummingbird feeders in the area. Is this what draws them?
