I recently purchased two individual Allure Indian Meal Moth traps. There was no instructions included. How do I set these up?

The PT 4 Allure Indian Meal Moth traps are an excellent monitoring tool. When placed correctly in a home or food handling facility, they can provide valuable information for detecting infestations of Indian Meal Moths. PT 4 Allure consists of two parts: the glue trap which can be hung or placed directly where food is stored and the lure packet which emits a time release sex pheromone designed to attract the adult male Indian Meal Moth.

The lure is packaged in a white packet. Upon opening this packet, you will find the lure encased in a silver foil casing. On one side there will be a white circle where the time release pheromone is dispensed. With the glue trap opened, the foil casing needs to be placed on the inside of the PT 4 glue trap with the white circle facing the inside air space of the glue trap. The lure should last approximately 16 weeks.

Placement of this trap could be in kitchen pantries, garages, or any other area inside of a residence where grain based food is stored. Once Indian Meal Moths are detected in the trap, the food products surrounding the trap will need to be inspected for infestation of the Indian Meal Moth larvae. This contaminated product will need to be discarded and the area cleaned of any spilled food product.
