BROWN-BANDED COCKROACH (Supella longipalpa)
Key Biology
- 5/8 inch long as an adult
- Dark brown, wings range from reddish brown to medium brown
- Wings are twice-banded with yellowish stripes
- They have two pale brown bands on the wings and the pronotum is clear
Distribution/Habits
- Prefers to live in bedroom, in furniture, in closets, behind braces for book shelves, corners of kitchen chairs, shower stalls, underneath tables and chairs, behind pictures, and high on shelves
- Can be found in office buildings
- They do not require high moisture and water as do the German cockroach
