FLORIDA WOODS COCKROACH (Eurycotis floridana)
Key Biology
- 1 ½ - 1 ¾ inch long as an adult
- Dark reddish-brown to black
- Nymphs have yellow bands on top of thorax
Distribution/Habits
- Can emit a strong foul smelling odor
- Found in lumber, lead mulch, wood piles, under palmetto leaves, in mulch around the perimeter of buildings
