PACIFIC DAMPWOOD TERMITE (Zootermopsis)
Biology
- Larger than Subterranean Termites; nymphs and soldiers are ½ to ¾ inches long.
- Soldiers have large reddish brown heads.
- Swarmers are light brown in color.
Distribution/Habits
- Found in logs, stumps, and in dead trees.
- Attack wood exposed to moist soil and high humidity.
- Require a high moisture content.
